Do you want your children or grandchildren to develop a habit of saving money? What better way to get them started saving than to give them a piggybank for Christmas?
Today’s piggybanks can be playful and fun. You can buy banks that look like a favorite animal like a cat, turtle or a rabbit. If you prefer a sports theme, you can get a bank with your favorite Major League Baseball team’s logo on it.
I like banks that are divided into compartments like save, spend, donate and invest. Kids can see the money accumulate in each separate compartment. They don’t have to “break the bank” to take money out because there is a separate opening to let money out of each compartment.
If you believe it is important to save money, help your child or grandchild develop that habit. Buying an appropriate piggybank can help you pass on values that matter to you.
