Pre-Discharge Education: The Second Certificate
After you have filed for bankruptcy, you must complete an approved financial course. You have the choice of attending an in-person live workshop or completing this course online.
Live workshops are offered in Menasha. Call FISC at 920-886-1000 or 800-366-8161 for course locations and times.
Fees for the in-person or the online workshop are $25 per person payable in advance by cash, money order or credit card. There is no additional fee associated with generation of the certificate. We will waive the fee if the client’s household current income is less than 150% of the poverty guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the authority of 42 U.S.C. 9902(2), as adjusted from time to time, for a household or family of the size involved in the fee determination. No one is turned away if they cannot pay. If you believe you qualify for the fee waiver, please call our office at 800-366-8161 to have your income verified by a consumer credit counselor. You may be required to submit last year’s taxes and you last four paystubs. Verification may take up to two business days. If you are taking the course online, please call us for your voucher number so you can complete your free online process. Click here.
If you take the in-person workshop you will be asked to show us a picture ID. We will need your bankruptcy case number to fill in your Certificate of Completion, so please give us this number when you register for the course. You will receive your Certificate of Completion after you complete the workshop.
