About 70% of college students borrow money to go to school. Many parents and students who are taking out student loans wonder if they are making the best choice.

Fox Communities Credit Union is hosting a workshop to help parents and students learn more about their options. Pete Spaeth from FISC, a certified student loan counselor, will be the featured speaker. He will be talking about the differences between federal and private loans, different types of federal repayment plans and options like deferring and consolidating loans.

These no-cost workshops are open to the public and will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20 at Fox Communities Credit Union, 3401 E. Calumet St., Appleton, or at Tundra Lodge and Conference Center, 865 Lombardi Ave., Green Bay, on Thursday, Sept. 21. Each 60-minute seminar begins at 6 p.m.

Register at or by calling the Fox Communities Call Center at 920-993-9000.
