More About the Free Consultation
The consultation is usually conducted by phone for your convenience. The brief initial consultation enables you to talk with a financial counselor about your financial situation, and discuss available options, including making an appointment for financial counseling. If after your consultation, you would like to schedule a financial counseling appointment or if you schedule a financial counseling appointment without consulting with the financial counselor beforehand, a $25 counseling fee will be collected at your first counseling appointment. This fee includes a Debt Management Plan (DMP) set-up fee, if applicable. If you believe you are unable to pay the $25 counseling fee, a counselor will determine if the fee can be waived.
